Finally a new post!

This is my first update for this year.  2010 has already proven to be the year of champions, lets see how far we can ride this wave.

First, I would like to say thanks to everyone at Old Crow Tattoo.  Ive never been happier to tattoo anywhere in my life.  This shop gets better every day - Currently Im working Fri - Tues, 1 - 8.  If you havent seen the Crow come check it out!  There are community art shows every first week of the month, as well as other gatherings and fiestas once in a while.  The best way to stay in touch with all of that is to add Old Crow on facebook, or just come by once in a while.  Tonight is the opening reception for our current art show, starts after 8, usually goes until 12 or so.  Next months will also be one you dont want to miss... especially for those into the graffiti street art scene.  As Terry would put it, "... its gonna be bananas."

Things are starting to get busier for me and I am working on a lot of larger scale new pieces right now.  Ill post some progress of that soon.  If you want something drawn up it might take a couple weeks at this point, so the sooner you come in and get started the sooner we can tattoo.  Im really stoked on all the stuff Im working on right now, thanks goes out to all you kick ass clients with your good ideas and stuff... Im working hard for ya!

Other than that, I finally got a space to play some loud music again - I have a few music projects in mind for this year and cant wait to play some shows!  Captain Kidd and the Tentacles is getting their chops up to speed before unleashing their near uncontrollable musical power that has been withheld for so long.  Near uncontrollable.

So yeah, im pretty much drawing until my fingers cant take it all day, and drumming until my arms cant take it all night.  Life is pretty good.  I sincerely hope yours is too.  Come say whats up!  This summer is going to rock.

your amigo,
daniel stewart

Happy Holidays!

My last day at Old Crow until 2010 will be tomorrow.  Im looking forward to spending some time with my family over the holidays, and will be back in touch with everyone the first week of January.  I wish everyone the best, see you soon!

I have some high hopes for 2010.  2009 was a fast year and for me and most of the people i know, a year of intense change.  Im glad were done with it, and i feel like everyones heading into 2010 with a full head of steam.  Im pretty sure its going to be amazing.

Ive been doing a lot of painting, and have new tattoo projects as well to be excited about.  Very soon there will be some new work on this website, i swear to it.

Well, thats all for now i suppose - and now im going to go make a snowman.

Happy Holidays, and
PEACE!

HOWDY Y'ALL!

I started a new series of paintings last night - spent some late hours working on a pretty good sized canvas.  As i finish each piece ill be posting them to the artwork section on the website so everyone can check it out.  A bunch of them will probably have a human interaction with outer space theme, which if you dont know me is a reoccurring theme of mine that i just cant seem to shake.  Then i think ill be moving on to a nature theme.  But all possibilities are always there, it just depends on what inspires me to paint that day in the first place.

Time certainly seems to be flying by again - were already well into November 2009 - is anyone else getting a little screwed up with this time change?  I say next year we refuse...

Later gater,

Im starting to get really excited for this winter...

Recently I have been given the opportunity to work with Philip Milic at his new shop Old Crow in Oakland right across the street from Lake Merritt.  Im currently working there Sundays and Mondays and will most likely be dedicating another day or so of my work week there in the near future.  Philip has been a tattooer for 14 years and is very talented in both tattooing and painting - its a real privilege for me to get to work alongside such an accomplished artist.

His shop was opened 4 months ago and has a separate art gallery with a monthly rotating show.  Its an awesome shop so come say hi and check it out - Im going to add Old Crow as well as Philip Milics info to my links section tonight.

Dylan and I are still working on the As Above So Below studio.  It should be fully opened by the end of this month!  Weve already started tattooing, so get booked before it gets booked - its going to be a busy winter season!

In other news... does anyone know what NASA is really up to?  Oh crash a spaceship on the moon you say?  I dont trust it.  If I know one thing for sure, its that the future is going to be very, very weird.  Guess Im equipped.

Peace, love, and tentacles -
